Typographic Concept
This functional typeface was part of a graphic exercise, to learn about how type works and to create font from scratch.

A cannon of proportions is established for the characterset by defining segments of each character to be reused to create a 'language' of typeforms. Attention is paid to stroke width, character height, drop height, etc.

Each character begins as a sketch on gridpaper, which is then refined, scanned, vectorized, and further refined.

After all of the characters have been cleaned, their vectorline images are assembled, appropriately kearned, and finally released into a working TrueType font.
